Saint-Paul de Fenouillet
Des origines du IXe siècle
The church, whose origins date back to the eleventh century, owes its current appearance to its reconstruction at the beginning of the fourteenth century.
An inscription engraved above the south door of the church bears witness to this.
The altarpiece of the high altar dating from the seventeenth century is remarkable for the perfect aesthetics of its stucco or plasterwork mouldings. Large Solomonic columns support the architrave and frame the statues of St. Peter and St. Paul, patrons of the parish. Near the baptismal fonts are two stucco sculpture scenes: the baptism of Jesus and the Centurion’s prayer.
Weekly Mass on Sunday at 11 a.m.
