Situation Géographique
An ancient Roman Villaria of the seventh century, Saint-Paul became, in the course of a very strong regional history, an important city located at an altitude of 262 m and about forty kilometres from the Mediterranean.
Saint-Paul-de-Fenouillet, former chief town of the canton. With an area of 4392 ha and 1812 inhabitants. The climate is dry and regular. Fairly mild winter. Hot summer. Maximum temperatures at 30°C and 35°C, lows rarely at -4°C. The predominant winds are the tramontane or cers, and the marin, a south wind often laden with rain.
In these places inhabited by man since prehistoric times, you will taste the pleasures of sport-nature, the discovery of historical sites: the Chapter, Galamus, the old thermal baths of La Fou (private property today)… or lazing around in its squares shaded by hundred-year-old plane trees.
